Protecting the privacy of data about our members is a responsibility we take very seriously. Longshore FCU understands your data is personal, and it is important to you that we keep it confidential.

What does Longshore FCU do with your personal Information?

Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

Data Collected

The data we collect about you varies by the product, service or benefit you request and may include:

  • Data we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as name, address, Social Security number, birth date, assets and income.
  • Data we receive from consumer-reporting agencies, such as credit history and credit scores.
  • Data about your transactions and experience with us, such as products or services and payment history.
  • Data from outside sources relating to their relationship with you or that verifies representations made by you. This includes your employment history .
  • Other general data, such as email address and demographic data.
  • When you are no longer our member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

Data-Sharing Practices

The credit union shares information with nonaffiliated companies for our everyday business purposes, such as (1) to process transactions, maintain account(s), respond to court orders and legal investigations, report to credit bureaus; or (2) as permitted by law.

Having correct data about you permits us to: provide better member service, increase the efficiency of our operation, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. We will respond to your request to update information on your account as quickly as possible.

Internal Procedures

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. The credit union has established procedures for periodically training employees and volunteers on the importance of member privacy and Longshore FCU’s privacy policy. Authorized employees and volunteers may access data about your account information only when necessary for business reasons.

Joint Marketing with Financial Companies

Longshore Federal Credit Union does not jointly market. However, you should know that our regular service mailings may contain marketing materials.

Availability of Policy

The credit union is proud of its commitment to member confidentiality, and will make this policy available to any consumer requesting it. The credit union will also post the policy on its internet home page.

Complaints

Because of the credit union’s high commitment to confidentiality of member information, complaints relating to this policy, or the credit union’s perceived non-compliance with the policy should be forwarded directly to the credit union manager, Ruth Bryson or to a member of the credit union Supervisory Committee for prompt consideration.
